Wire backed or page wire silt fences play a crucial role in erosion control and sediment management, particularly in construction and agricultural environments. BW Geotextiles offers a range of silt fencing solutions, including Paige Wire Silt Fence and Heavy-Duty Wire Backed Silt Fence. These fences help to contain sediment and prevent environmental damage by allowing water to pass through while filtering out soil and debris.
Heavy-Duty Wire Backed Silt Fence - OPSD 219.131
BW Geotextiles' Heavy-Duty Wire Backed Silt Fence is an excellent choice for high-demand projects. Featuring a 14-gauge electro-galvanized welded wire backing with 2” x 4” openings. The geotextile used is 100 GSM silt fence that is 48” high, this fabric meets OPSD 219.131 ensuring durability.
The geotextile fabric is attached to this wire with C Rings along the top edge and also along each end. Standard fabric is 48” wide with allows for a 10” apron to be placed in a trench and backfilled. Steel T-posts are normally used to support wire backed silt fence. They are usually placed at 6’ - 8’ spacing, or as specified. Wire or plastic ties are used to secure fencing to T-posts

Page Wire Silt Fence: Long-Term Performance in Variable Terrain
The Page Wire Silt Fence is engineered for applications that require extra strength and longevity. It consists of a nonwoven geotextile securely attached to a farm fence, reinforced with evenly spaced T-posts or optional cedar posts for added durability. The tightly hinged joints in the fence allow for flexibility across uneven terrain, ensuring reliable performance.
Standard configuration use 1047-12-14, featuring 11-gauge top and bottom wires. Highway wire configuration used a 949-12-12.5 High Tensile, class 3 for some MTO jobs. Other options are available on request.
Steel T-Post
Steel T-post can be used to support various types of wire fencing or wire mesh. Made of quality steel for resiliency and strength, these high quality T-Posts assure stability in all soil types.
